Harrier awarded another of the top four RPO contracts in Australia

Harrier Human Capital has announced its win of the RPO contract for Coles.

With implementation completed at the end of June, Harrier’s onsite teams are already embedded in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth and are managing the recruitment of the retail giant’s 1,200+ Store Support Centre positions, as well as hundreds of additional leadership positions in supermarkets across the country.

Australian organisations resist flexible working arrangements

A recent poll by Harrier Human Capital found that 48% of respondents work for organisations with no flexible work arrangements on offer.

Despite a growing trend in global workplaces, Australian organisations appear slow to offer alternative work arrangements.  The Harrier findings are consistent with a 2013 study of 500 organisations by labour analytics company Kronos where more than half those surveyed did not offer flexible work options.

Diversity improves the bottom line

According to a recent poll by Harrier Human Capital, 63% of respondents say their organisation has a strategy in place for managing an increasingly diverse workforce.

This is pleasing news given the strong evidence showing clear economic benefits for cultural and gender diversity. Companies with high executive and board diversity have ROEs an average of 53% higher than those with low levels and EBIT margins 14% higher.

Gender Diversity; ATC 2014 Presentation

Building on this years’ International Women’s Day theme of Inspiring Change, Harrier CEO Kelly Quirk partnered with Rabia Siddique, a criminal and human rights lawyer awarded a Queen’s commendation for human rights work, to discuss gender diversity across the global and Australian landscapes at the Australasian Talent Conference in Sydney in May.  The presentation focussed on the need for change and the need for positive, progressive strategies to engage, recruit and retain women in leadership and business.  To watch this outstanding video presentation, click here.
